Under heavy acceleration, the hemi sucks oil and the stock emission system forces it into engine through the throttle body. Status of the 5.7 & 6.4 Hemi Valve Train Defect Class Action Litigation. Hi, I have a brand new 2012 grand cherokee. It has started to exhibit problems with the transmission - just 1000 miles on it. Basically it shutters and will not downshift correctly. The best description is that of a fish tugging slightly on the line. This is how the transmission feels - when This stalling issue could be the Torque Converter locking up at idle. Have your "TC off" pressure checked by a transmission shop. If its 30 psi or lower your trans is due for a rebuild pump. It also explains the "stutter" since its trying to lock up at too low a speed. I changed the valve body, and the errors still came up --- then knew it was the pcm. Changed the pcm, and no more problems. If it is the pcm, you can get one as a plug n play (already coded) from 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee PCM ECM ECU Engine Computer for less than $200. Another thing to check is the black connector from the accelerator cable Hey guys recently purchased a 2010 jeep grand Cherokee with the 5.7. It was giving codes p0014 and p0016 crankshaft position camshaft position correlation bank 1. I replaced the cam sensor and the crank sensor and changed the oil. Erase codes and drive it around it does great as soon as I pull back in and turn off the car and restart it the CEL The most common symptom of a bad or failing 5.7 hemi crankshaft position sensor is facing difficulties starting the vehicle or not being able to start at all. As the job of a crankshaft position sensor is to monitor the crankshaft’s speed and position, and other parameters, while starting the engine, it has a vital role to play. The rough idle is back. Really bad when it's cold - idle starts at around 900 as it drops to say 550 the idle gets rough - the needle bounces around slightly - I have it recorded on my i-phone. Jeep is rough and you can feel an irratic vibration. Kind of like the old days when a carberated engine would miss fire. TXjeep1 said: All-. I just purchased a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 (Quadra Drive 2) with a 5.7L Hemi. I have had this vehicle for three days and it is doing the following: 1.) No horn. 2.)No driver side headlight, No high beam auto, when high beam auto engaged the instrument cluster lighting turns off and no headlights. 3.)No windshield wipers. Noticed a slight constant grinding noise which does not change in sound whether my '15 Overland Hemi is in idle or in drive. Sounds consistent with the following video and sounds like it's coming from the front of the engine just where the water pump is located. Bought the vehicle with 15K miles and now has 22.9K miles. .
